The working title for Pete's latest offering is "Only Hope Remains", which is a reference to the Greek Goddess Pandora and her box of tricks, Hope being the only thing left when the box was opened and all else was gone. The world is a Pandora's Box at the moment with the terrible situation in the Middle East and the gigantic mistakes made by certain Governments and their total capitulation to Big Oil whilst only a fraction of the money that has been spent on the war could solve so many of the long term post-imperial problems of the Developing World. But, who cares, eh?
They are very personal songs- stuff that means a lot to Pete. "Love you for Eternity" is a love song to Jane, who rescued him in 2001; "You came back" tells of how she forgave him his worst moments; "Dancing on the Beach" is a reflection on his recuperation from total exhaustion in Australia during 2001; and "Feed the People" is a furious rant against the war in Iraq.
Pete plays all the instruments except - Drums, on "Feed the People", special thanks to Phil Jacobs for that; Cello on "Love you for Eternity", played brilliantly by Hereford Cathedral School student Tim Hanks; and of course "Feed the People" featured the voices of the Hereford Cathedral School Choristers.
Enjoy these songs, pass on "Feed the People" to as many people who will listen, agree, and learn.... it's an anthem of our time.
