The arrangements for the next Battle of the Bands have been finalised and can now be revealed. This year the Heats, the Semi-Finals and the Finals are all taking place at The Herdsman on Widemarsh Street, with the first Heat on Saturday 31st January and the Finals on Sunday 5th April. CHOIRS FOR CHRISTMAS
Our "Hereford Choirs for Christmas" c.d is now available to buy from the studio for the tiny price of £5. It features the lovely voices of six choirs and also Hereford Big Band. There's a great original by St. Francis Xaviers R.C Primary School, called "Switch the Christmas Lights on", to the tune of "Hound Dog". All of the profits are going to St. Michael's Hospice.
2007 has been a great year for Hereford Music not only in the wide variety of recordings, our own sales of the Thunderclap CD of the re-make of “Something in the Air” in Europe and the USA, but in the increasing professional work providing a base for the Herefordshire young musicians. The support of Herefordshire Council, Edgar Street Grid Company, Hereford City Partnership, parents, young students, adult learners and our teachers has been brilliant. Without them we could not function.
We look forward in 2008 to the development of the larger premises in the Cattle Market, with a full sound stage, one (OR MORE!)of the many songs being written by the young bands becoming a hit. Let’s really put Hereford on the world music map.
